On the strength of a historic season by MVP Shohei Ohtani, the Los Angeles Angels had a remarkable year on Twitter, leading the entire league with a 1.34% engagement rate and generating more than $13M in value for the franchise. However, they weren’t the only team with a breakout year on social. According to Zoomph’s 2021 MLB Season Report, the San Diego Padres finished second in engagement rate on Twitter, fourth on Instagram and second on Facebook. Those rates across the three primary platforms earned the team more than $18M combined in social value.
